What’s the difference between Paint, Foam, and Slime Bomb Missions?

Each mission has five unique game rooms and ends with either a Paint, Foam, or Slime bomb. Paint missions come with white hazmat suits, while Foam and Slime come with black. Gameplay stays the same—teams of 4–6 work together to beat all rooms and disarm the bomb.

What age is this appropriate for?

The game is for ages 8 and up. Kids under 18 need a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Ages 8–9 must play with an adult on the team. Ages 10–15 don’t need an adult in-game but one must be present. Ages 16+ can play solo with a signed waiver. Brooklyn requires guests to be 21+ after 7:30 PM on Fridays and Saturdays.

What do you get if you win?

Winners earn perks through the Loyalty Program—expect discounts, free food or drinks, and cool merch. Rewards are sent via email.

Bring your confirmation email and a photo ID if you plan to grab drinks at the Bomb Bar. Free lockers are available for your stuff while you play.

Is there an age limit for any of your rooms?

While our puzzles are designed for adults, we welcome all ages. If anyone in your party is 14 or younger, at least one adult chaperone must accompany them unless you’ve booked the entire room (though we still recommend having an adult present). If any guest is 10 or younger, you must book the entire room to ensure a private game out of courtesy to other customers.

Can I bring my food or drinks into the room with me?

Food is not allowed inside our rooms. Beverages in sealed bottles, such as water bottles, are permitted.

Is this the original escape room?

Yes, Escape The Room NYC was the first escape room in New York City and the first American-owned escape room in the United States.

What if I am late for my booking?

For private games, we’ll hold your game up to 10 minutes after the start time. After that, your 60-minute game clock begins. You can join anytime but will have only the remaining time. For public games, the 60-minute clock starts on schedule, and you cannot enter once 15 minutes have passed.

What if I only want my group in an escape room?

All games are public unless you purchase the “private experience” option. After selecting your ticket quantity, you can upgrade to a private experience by buying the remaining slots at 50% off. Without the private option, any open slots can be booked by others, and you may be paired with them during the game.

How many people can play?

Each Gamebox holds up to 6 players. If your group is larger, our system will automatically reserve multiple Gameboxes. You’ll need to split into teams, but everyone will play at the same time.

Will I be placed with other people?

No, all bookings are private. You'll only be joined by the people you book with—even if it's just two of you. *Note: This excludes the Manchester Arndale Social Pass.

Can I store my belongings?

Free lockers are available at all venues for storing bags, coats, and non-essential items during your game. However, availability isn’t guaranteed, so please plan accordingly.

Wear sensible footwear—flat shoes or trainers, no open toes or heels. We recommend a single layer, as you may warm up while playing in the Gamebox.

Can you host a party at Immersive Gamebox?

Yes! We offer a variety of party packages depending on the venue. Visit our party package page for details, or contact our team through the party booking form to start planning your event.

Can I bring outside food into the venue?

We kindly ask that no outside food be brought in. For parties, we offer catering through our partners and are happy to discuss options with you. Planning to bring a birthday cake? Contact your venue directly, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

What ticket options do you have?

We offer two standard ticket types: General Admission (Ages 12+) and Junior (Ages 3–11). Discounted tickets are available Monday–Wednesday* for 60-minute experiences, offered to Students, Blue Light Card holders (UK), and Military or College Students (US). *Availability may vary by location.

How long is a typical session?

About 60 minutes of immersive gameplay.

Comfortable clothes and layers for ease of movement are best.

Can groups larger than 10 play?

Will I be playing with strangers?

No. Your game is private, shared only with your chosen group for a safe, personal adventure.

Yes! We offer “On The Run,” a customizable portable event for any group size. Contact your nearest Great Escape Room location for details.

How much does admission cost?

Prices range from $40 to $50 per player, depending on the escape room and group size. Check the booking section for detailed pricing per room. Epic offers private games exclusively for your group, and games are available for groups as small as two players.

What happens if I arrive late?

You should arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled reservation. If you arrive after your game time, we allow a 10-minute grace period—no longer, and no exceptions.

What if our team is stuck on a task?

You can ask your game master for up to three clues to help you escape. Use them wisely!

Are there any age restrictions?

Yes. Anyone under 13 must be accompanied by an adult, and no one under 5 is allowed.

I have a very large group that wants to escape together. Can you accommodate us?

Yes. For groups of 17 or more, Epic Escape can arrange multiple rooms for a fun competition. We can accommodate groups of any size!

Are we really locked in a room?

No. For safety reasons, the door is never actually locked. We ask you to pretend it is as part of the experience. Game masters monitor your session via video and audio and can communicate anytime. You may leave if needed, but you won’t be allowed back in to avoid disrupting others.

Are the lights turned off?

No, the lights stay on, and the game is not scary. We focus on creating fun, family-friendly experiences for everyone.

Do I need to bring my own group, or will I be with others?

You're welcome to bring family, friends, or coworkers. If not, we’ll happily pair you with other adventure seekers to form a team.

Do I need a reservation?

Yes, reservations are required. However, if staffing allows, we’ll do our best to accommodate last-minute walk-ins.

We’re celebrating a special occasion. Do you offer anything to help us mark it?

Absolutely! You can book a private room for your group or significant other. Planning a proposal? We’re experience designers—we’d love to help make it unforgettable with something creative and personal.

Yes, we offer a parking lot with reserved spots plus street parking. On weekdays from 9–5, please avoid spots reserved for other businesses. Carpooling is a great way to strategize en route—just make sure your team arrives on time!

Can you accommodate large parties or corporate events?

How many escape rooms does Escape Virtuality offer?

Escape Virtuality features three immersive motion-simulated escape rooms: Runaway Train, Ghost Collector, and Mission: Galaxy Rescue. In addition, we offer a variety of VR escape games, including Goblin’s Quest: The Uprising, Ward 9: The Experiment, Geist Manor: Playtime, Subject X: Abduction, and Lost Legends: The Pharaoh’s Tomb.

How much does each game cost?

Guests can choose from a variety of options! We offer one-hour experiences for just $45, two-hour passes, or an all-day unlimited pass that includes escape room access. Our escape rooms start at $45 per person, and virtual reality games are available starting at just $10.

Will I be grouped with other participants in an escape room?

You have the choice! You can book a Private Room for just your group or reserve an individual spot and join other players in the experience.

How many people can Escape Virtuality accommodate at once?

Approximately 50-55 people can participate in our activities at one time.

Can tickets be shared among family members or a group?

No, tickets cannot be shared. The New York Pass and all admission tickets are non-transferable and must be used by the individual pass holder.

What’s the difference between an escape room and a virtual reality escape game?

Escape Virtuality offers both traditional and VR escape experiences. VR escape games—like Goblin’s Quest: The Uprising—require players to wear equipment such as the HTC Vive headset and MSI VR One backpack to immerse themselves in a virtual environment. In contrast, our immersive escape rooms—Runaway Subway Train, Ghost Collector, and Mission: Galaxy Rescue—are played in physical, real-world settings without the need for VR gear.

Are the games private?

Yes, all games are private. You’ll only play with the people in your group.

Are the rooms sanitized?

Yes, we sanitize each room between groups.

Anyone can play! We recommend ages 8 and up.

What if we don’t finish in time?

If possible, we may extend your time. If not, the Game Master will help you finish the puzzles. You won’t remain locked in.

Can I walk in and play?

Walk-ins are welcome, but availability is not guaranteed. We recommend calling ahead.

What is the age policy?

Children under 10 are not permitted. Ages 10–14 must be in a privately booked room with at least one adult (18+) playing. Ages 15–17 may play without an adult in the room but must have one present at check-in to sign a waiver. PanIQ Room staff reserves the right to refuse service.
