I'm writing a review after today's experience for the Houdini/Seance room. For context, I've previously done the poker room here and have done other escape rooms in general to understand what to expect in terms of service, hints, game masters, etc. One thing different about this company compared to others is that they offer unlimited hints upon request and proactive "nudges" that would help guide you in the right direction without being asked (if you choose to opt in). The game master who was overseeing us during the room today didn't feel as though they were properly watching us to give us helpful or relevant hints. We spent a significant amount of time on one of the puzzles in the first room due to an error that was never corrected via nudge or hint. This proceeded to compromise the entire experience because it immediately impacted the next puzzle that grants us access to the second room and left us with little time for the remaining puzzles because the error was never caught/clarified by the master. There were also 2 hints we received that referenced items we did not have access to (and requested the hint for the purpose of figuring out how to access it) and before even receiving those 2 hints that were relevant to the task, we received hints for puzzles we had already solved. Because of this, the hints felt scripted/pre-written to go out in a certain order. Despite having opted in, we were never nudged throughout the entire experience, so I'm not sure what exactly would warrant a nudge if the significant amount of time we were spending on one puzzle or not having something open wasn't enough of a signal to the game master that something was wrong. Our experience today was different from our experience with the game master from the poker themed room. Not sure if the policy around hints changed to use scripted ones or if the game master was just inattentive, but it definitely impacted our entire experience. We came in thinking we would buy repeat tickets at the end of our game today, and left feeling like we won't be returning again.
Great escape room experience, shoutout to Angelica the host who made us feel welcoming and did a detailed introduction to the room, and May the cluemaster(?) who worked behind the scene ensuring we had a great experience. Me and my girlfriend did the haunted hotel and the clues were pretty straightforward, just needed to remember where all the locks were which we didn't and got stuck a few times, May was probably watching us walking around and be like why were they even looking there. Anyways, great little brain teaser and an excellent way to spend an awesome hour! Especially since they are all private escape room so you don't need to solve puzzle with strangers. Parking is easy with plenty meter spot outside. Also appreciate their "encore tickets" that allows you to purchase discounted tickets in person for future visits. Will definitely visit this location again, and check out other locations they have if possible.

My friends and I just did the Haunted Hotel and Mountain Top Murders rooms at the Rego Park, Queens NY location and LOVED it. We have done a ton of rooms together and were admittedly nervous about trying a chain. We were pleasantly surprised with the high quality set production, challenging but sensical puzzles and fun quirky story lines. This place is a must visit!!! Also - special shout out to puzzle master May who was fun, kind, enthusiastic and supportive! She let us try the rooms with no hints and even came and celebrated with us after we had “saved” Nana - she really took the overall experience from good to great! We are psyched to go back!!!
Thank you Dina and Jason for our first time amazing experience. They provided information and helped us enjoy the time at the escape room. We will definitely come back in the future.
May was amazing at explaining everything we needed to do with the most happiest smile and attention. I would definitely come back and experience the rest of the rooms. Houdini scape room was very challenging but kept us entertained all the way.
