How can I book a session?

You can book online through our website's 'Book Now' page. For special requests or bespoke events, please email thearchertype@gmail.com. We require advance bookings and do not accommodate same-day bookings or walk-ins.

What are the minimum and maximum group sizes for booking?

A minimum of four players is required for a private booking. Standard private bookings go up to 20 players for Combat Archery/Gameshow, or up to 50 for corporate events in a tournament format. For groups larger than these limits, please contact us directly via email.

Are there any age restrictions for participating?

Combat Archery has a minimum age of 10 years due to dexterity and strength requirements. Outplayed The Gameshow has a minimum age of 6. Participants under 18 must be supervised by an adult (18+) who can sign a waiver on their behalf.

What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

You can reschedule or cancel your booking for free with at least 7 days' notice. Rescheduling within 7 days incurs a 20% fee, and cancellation within 7 days incurs a 50% fee. Cancellations or reschedules within 24 hours of the event will be charged the full 100% booking fee.

What should I wear and do I need to bring any equipment?

For Combat Archery, wear comfortable clothing and suitable footwear with good grip. For Outplayed The Gameshow, everyday comfortable wear is fine. All necessary equipment, including bows, foam-tipped arrows, face masks, and armguards for Combat Archery, is provided by The Archertype.

Will Combat Archery hurt?

No, our arrows have soft foam tips, similar to a marshmallow, so impacts feel like being hit with a beanbag. It's a family-friendly alternative to paintball, designed to be noticeable but not painful, leaving no bruises.

I came here with my family not knowing what to expect. Honestly it was amazing so much fun. The host Vince was great! What a character such a funny guy with great energy for the games. It’s the kinda fun activity you can do with anyone. There’s like 7 odd games you play in an hour. Really bought the competitive nature out of us. Would definitely visit again?

Me and my friends have recently played ‘Outplayed: The Gameshow’ and honestly… It was such a fantastic activity that have truly exceeded our expectations! 👏🏻 We couldn’t stop laughing the whole time and Tim & his team were absolutely brilliant making sure we had the best time possible. Perfect for groups, birthdays, hen/stag dos or even work nights out with your colleagues! Highly recommend if you’re after something a bit different.

Booking & Cancellation

The Archertype offers free rescheduling or cancellation with at least 7 days' notice. For changes made with less than 7 days' notice, a 20% fee applies to rescheduling, and a 50% fee for cancellation. Bookings cancelled or rescheduled within 24 hours of the event are subject to a 100% booking fee due to prior arrangements for staffing, equipment, and venue.

I went to The Archertype recently and had such an amazing time. We tried Archery Tag / Combat Archery and it was genuinely one of the most fun activities I’ve done in Manchester. It’s a bit like dodgeball mixed with archery, but way more exciting – you’re ducking, diving and trying to hit your friends with foam-tipped arrows. The mix of adrenaline and laughter was brilliant. The venue itself is great – from the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming and full of character. You can really tell how much thought and care has gone into the space. Everything felt so well put together and they have all the equipment you need. The team there give you a clear run-through at the start so you know what you’re doing, and then it’s straight into the action. Most of us hadn’t played before but we picked it up really quickly. The team (Vince and Tim) were friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do, which made the whole visit feel special. It’s clear they’ve worked hard to create something unique here, and it shows in the details. I’d highly recommend Archertype to anyone looking for something a little different — whether you’re local or just passing through. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience, made even better by the fact it’s run by one of the nicest people you’ll meet. Already looking forward to my next visit!

Wow what a great experience. Be prepared to sweat. Lol was so much fun. Vince and Franklin explained it all and were so much fun. Will defo return for another session. Highly recommend for a group activity.
