Came for the horror escape room on a Saturday afternoon, thought the staff were great, very informative, enthusiastic and welcoming. However I felt the standard of the escape room was sub-par. Small room, found the puzzles to be either too simple or overly difficult, and skipped puzzles we were working on, meaning we finished with ten minutes to spare. I’d come back for the other activities offered here and maybe to try the food as it looked nice, feel for an escape room there are much better experiences on offer in Sydney.
Strike is not a good place for escape rooms for the following reasons: 1) you still can hear music and bowling noise in the room which ruined the overall experience. It was also a bit hard to hear the instructions. 2) the automation sucks and it left us confused once things just opened / popped after a certain period of time. 3) unlike other venues, there is not dedicated staff watching/assist you. During briefing, the girl said you can call me, but I may not answer it… 4) both briefings at the start and in the end were less professional than other places. 5) things are less logical as you progress. Will not try escape rooms with Strike again.

This review applies generally to Strike escape rooms as I have had similar experiences in other locations. We attempted the 'Alien Invaders' escape room. We were aware it's graded hard/pro so were not expecting it to be easy. However, as someone who is quite experienced with solving escape rooms, I rate this experience poorly for the following reasons: 1. There was no dedicated game master / staff helper; I've noticed that Strike staff have to split their time across the bowling alley, escape rooms and other parts of the venue. This meant that there was no one watching in entirety to promptly help the group when needed, and also to provide relevant feedback on our efforts at the end. 2. There is an auto-solve/time-out on the puzzles which means some features open/reveal themself on their own. Often, it was not clear how something happened as it was not obvious what solution led to it. 3. The clues/puzzles weren't in logical or sequential order. There was an easy clue that we identified early in the game which apparently will not be useful until the end as it's one of the last puzzles. This meant we wasted a lot of time figuring out why our solution to the puzzle didn't result in something happening.
Went to the escape room 'old haunt' staff were friendly but the room itself being fully automated didnt give us our usual escape room experience. The puzzles solve themselves after a short time period meaning the satisfaction of finally getting a tricky one right was somewhat lost. There was also not always a logical progression of what to do next which is really useful when doing escape rooms. The bowling alley and music outside the room made it almost impossible at times to hear important information in the game
Escape room was great fun and prefect for a group of 5. Having drinks served to the bowling lanes is great, and the cocktails are unique in a fun way! Staff were very friendly and helpful.
