Avoid at All Costs – Misleading, Unprofessional, and Unsafe ★☆☆☆☆ We booked what was advertised on Wotif.com.au as a Quest Hotel — a chain we’ve used many times and found reliably mid-tier and comfortable. What we arrived to was a completely different experience. Firstly, the hotel had been rebranded to “Citadines”, with no prior notice. This bait-and-switch immediately set the tone for what was to come. We arrived at 1:10pm, well aware check-in was at 2pm. However, the receptionist told us that we could check in early if we handed over £20 cash — a demand that felt completely inappropriate, if not outright dodgy. When I asked if we could at least view the room first, she agreed — but on the way up she told me: “I don’t know why I’m bothering showing you the room. You’ve prepaid anyway, so whether you like it or not, we’ve taken your money.” This level of aggression, arrogance, and unprofessionalism was shocking. My wife and I felt so uncomfortable — especially after the receptionist became verbally aggressive towards her — that we made the decision to walk away from the three-night stay we’d already paid for. The lobby was filthy and chaotic, with staff smoking in the entrance, an overcrowded reception area, and a blaring television that only added to the sense of disarray. Several other guests looked visibly distressed, and we witnessed at least one other couple leave at the same time as us. We’ve since requested a refund (as we never even checked in), but unsurprisingly, we’ve received no response. We’ll now be pursuing a chargeback through our bank. In the end, we found a far better hotel in a more pleasant part of Liverpool and don’t regret leaving — except that we were ever duped into booking this place in the first place. In short: misleading advertising, shady staff practices, aggressive customer service, and a deeply unpleasant atmosphere. Avoid. Avoid at all costs !!!!

This isn’t a hotel it’s a dirty and crappy backpackers. The experience at check in made us leave a pre-paid 3 day booking. Money grabbing and just incredibly rude. We weren’t the only booking to leave after experiencing the “check in”. It’s one of those - no stars if I could.

Situated right at the centre of the town. Lime Street and Liverpool Central stations are a short walk. There are multiple good restaurants and pubs nearby, in addition to shopping outlets. The rooms are decent and well maintained. There was no wardrobe/cupboard in the studio. They provide shampoo, shower gel and towels. Might have to carry other toiletries. Reception is on 1st floor. I’d suggest not to opt for the breakfast as it’s just Cereals and not hot breakfast. You’ll be charged £2.4 city council tax upon check-in.
