How do I book a 'Come and Try' session?

What should I expect during my first shooting experience?

Your first time shooting will be fun and safe. We'll assign an experienced, licensed mentor who will provide safety training and coach you throughout your session. We focus on technique and mental focus rather than just equipment.

Are there any age restrictions for participants?

Yes, we welcome all skill levels and abilities for ages above 11 years old. Shooters 11 years and older can participate in our activities.

What are the costs involved for shooting?

Saturday morning shoots cost $22.00 for club members. Ammunition ranges from $9.00 to $35.00 per box of 50. A 'Come and Try' session is $60.00 per person, all-inclusive, payable by cash or bank transfer beforehand.

Do I need a firearms license to participate?

You do not need a QLD firearms license to shoot with us during a 'Come and Try' session, as you will be supervised by licensed club members and qualified range officers. We can guide you through the licensing process if you wish to obtain one.

What types of rifles and distances are available?

We accommodate 0.22 calibre single load rifles on our 50m range and 10m air rifles on our 10m range. Our 50m disciplines include prone, prone supported, bench shooting (aperture or scope), TRA benchrest, F-class, and 3P.

When is the range open for shooting?

Our range is open every Saturday from late January until mid-December. We meet at 8 am, with shooting typically finishing around 10:30 am, or up to 12 pm depending on shooter numbers and the Range Officer's discretion.
