You must try it out! Last week we did the Wizards & Dragons Room, and the group of us have not stopped talking about it since. This is NOT a bland room. If you are in the Northumberland, Quinte, Hastings and even Durham area, this room, Wizards & Dragons, hits all the feels without having to travel into Toronto. We spent more time in aww of the creativity in this room than any other place nearby. I even said that I'd be willing to pay to sit and watch other friends enjoy it for themselves! Well done!
The staff was just awful to the kids, and didn't provide the service that was paid for. For example, a staff member made one kid sit by himself for 15 minutes (because he was touching a tree) during the instructions/rules briefing for laser tag, then kicked him out of the game for not following a rule he didnt know, and proceeded to cut the entire group's time short... some kids (who paid quite a bit for the time there, considering what they got) didn't get their laser tag time, and just had to sit there waiting for the bus while everyone knew we were still on paid time! The kid who was removed was not given a 1 on 1 explanation by the staff member, as the owner's response alleges - he was taken away from the group (and teachers - very strange) by the employee and sat alone while she explained a completely different game to another group. The disc golf course is also just a big field with baskets set up around it, literally no obstacles or trees... not sure what the kids (or anyone for that matter) are being charged for there, other than borrowing a worn disc and having a staff member yell some instructions at the kids before they're sent out. If the kids were talking or practicing throwing discs they were yelled at and made to sit down (in wet grass) and not participate. These are kids on a trip trying to have fun, and getting yelled at instead - something their teachers don't even do - it was shocking. It seemed like the staff working there did not want the kids to enjoy themselves - they were nitpicking, looking for excuses to give the kids trouble, such as touching a broken chair or basketballs while waiting to play their next laser tag game, which was in a super dusty arena - so bad that one kid had to leave. I did ask the owner to make it right and let the kids play a last game (again, that they had paid for) instead of just sitting there, but he did not. I informed him I would be posting this review, which I have had to edit because the response twisted the events - all the adults there were shocked at the way the two employees that interacted with us treated the kids.

Escape Maze was the meeting place for four generations of family to come together from 4 different cities for our yearly campout. The pavilion provided an ideal place to gather for meals, and the variety of things to do kept everyone entertained. Some family members tackled solving the escape rooms while others enjoyed the disc golf course . Even Great Grandma took part in the Laser Tag challenge . The children ran free in the fresh air and loved the outdoor adventure trail. Everyday ended enjoying roasted marshmallows and making s’mores while sitting in a circle around the campfire . With so many activities to choose from , I would definitely recommend Escape Maze for families and groups of all ages. Thank you Jake and Wilma and all your staff for your hospitality .
Escape Maze is such a unique spot in Peterborough. We tried out the disc golf course, and while it could use a bit of polish, you can really see the effort that went into setting it up. It’s a fun bonus activity, but the real highlight here is the escape rooms and the escape-style adventures. They’re well put together, creative, and definitely something different to do if you’re in the area. It’s a great option for families or a group of friends—especially if you’re renting a cottage nearby and looking for an activity that’s a little outside the ordinary. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the whole property has a charming old western feel to it. You can tell they put a lot of care into the details. I imagine their Halloween events are going to be fantastic, given the vibe of the place already. Overall, Escape Maze is well worth a visit if you’re in the Peterborough area.
This is the first time trying an escape room game in my life & it was an amazing experience filled with fun and thrill. The host Mike and another lady ( Sorry I forgot to ask your name) were very much pleasing. He made the clues little easy as it was my first game. Even after the time limit he made us to play. Only 2 of us and we tried the magic wand. I would recommend this place for anyone. Thank you Mike for all your help and support. Happy to come back again!
