We tried the Redemption room. I would probably not recommend it. It was only alright, a couple good scares, the puzzles weren‘t terrible nor frustrating, but also not very creative or difficult, and much the same. The theming was pretty good, but that was about it As far as escape rooms with actors go, it was pretty sub-par. Definitely not worth the $70 we paid. More like a $40 experience. Staff were super friendly though, and facilities were good. Just an average escape room experience. I‘d probably try somewhere else instead

To make matters worse, one of my friends tried to post an honest review about our experience, and it was hidden. That, combined with the suspiciously high number of glowing reviews, makes us question how many of those five-star ratings are actually real. We visited Ice Breaker Escape Rooms after seeing its impressive 4.9-star average, thinking we were in for a top-tier experience. We chose “The Eye of Argos,” which looked exciting on paper—but what we got was frustrating, confusing, and frankly, not fun. Even before arriving, things started off poorly. The confirmation email didn’t even include basic details like which level the venue was on, which led to confusion before we even walked in. It was a small oversight that set the tone for what was to come. We’ve done our fair share of escape rooms, so we understand what makes a challenge enjoyable. But this one missed the mark completely. The puzzles didn’t flow logically, the clues felt disconnected, and we were often expected to complete tasks with no real direction. Instead of feeling clever or immersive, it just felt messy and poorly thought-out. The constant, unsolicited communication from staff via radio didn’t help. It felt less like helpful hints and more like an attempt to fix a flawed design mid-game. The storyline, supposedly aimed at 18-year-olds, was flat and awkwardly developed—it never pulled us in. The experience was so underwhelming that we left early. That’s something none of us have ever done before at any escape room. We walked in excited and left disappointed. While the staff seemed like they were doing their best, the design and execution of this room were lacking on every level. With reviews that don’t reflect reality and feedback that gets buried, it’s hard to trust what you’re seeing online. Sadly, this was the worst escape room we’ve done—and we won’t be returning.

Disappointed and Confused – Not Worth the Hype We decided to visit Ice Breaker Escape Rooms based on its impressive 4.9-star rating and glowing reviews. We booked “The Eye of Argos,” which looked promising. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of our expectations. To begin with, the confirmation email lacked basic information—specifically which level the venue was on—which caused unnecessary confusion before we even arrived. Sadly, that was only the beginning of a disappointing experience. We’ve done many escape rooms before and understand they can be challenging, but this one felt confusing in all the wrong ways. The puzzles didn’t flow logically, and the clues often seemed disconnected. In several instances, we were expected to perform actions without any real guidance or instruction, which made progression frustrating rather than fun. The staff member communicated via radio even when we hadn’t requested help. While we appreciate the effort, it highlighted how overly complicated and unclear the room was. It didn’t feel like a fun challenge—it just felt poorly designed. The storyline also left a lot to be desired. It wasn’t very engaging, and given that it involved 18-year-olds, parts of it felt oddly out of place or just not thoughtfully developed. Ultimately, the experience was so underwhelming that we decided to leave early—something we’ve never done at any other escape room. It was a huge letdown, especially since my friends and I had been looking forward to it. I don’t mean to be disrespectful to the staff, who seemed to be trying their best, but the design and execution of this room simply didn’t meet expectations. Unfortunately, this was the worst escape room we’ve ever done.

It’s my first escape room experience so I was terrified because I didn’t know what to expect, but James really looked after me and my group, and I felt better instantly and made me feel better about playing the game. I’m really glad I decided to do this! I had nothing to worry about. The story was actually really cool and interesting as well. Please try this place! Thank you so much to James❤️

Room escape in Sydney was an amazing experience. I can't forget this time. The immersion of the devices and the story was great. I'm really looking forward to the other themes as well!
