As a 20 year Reserve Veteran of the armed forces as well as 30 years in public education, I can give good perspective on training that ITTS offers. It is absolutely worth one’s time and money. These people not only know what they’re talking about but are clearly passionate about teaching. They walk a deft line between task-master and patient professional that exhibits genuine empathy towards students. And they make the class fun too. I was qualified to use deadly force in my Reserve military unit but this curriculum further enhanced and sharpened my understanding and confidence needed to safely execute the responsibility associated with carrying firearms. As we say in the Service, Bravo Zulu! (Well done)
I completed Handgun 1–4 and my CCW qualification at ITTS and could not be more impressed. From start to finish the program was extremely professional , the curriculum is well-structured, the range and equipment are top-notch, and safety is treated as the highest priority. Special shout-out to Uncle Scotty, Jordan Weiss, Jordan Lee, Alex, and Joe Cupo , every one of them is an outstanding instructor. They bring real, practical qualifications and experience to the range, communicate clearly, and offer patient, actionable feedback. Because of their coaching I gained a much deeper understanding of the pistol: fundamentals, marksmanship, draw and presentation, and decision-making under stress. My accuracy and confidence have improved dramatically. If you’re serious about learning safely and effectively , whether you’re a beginner or looking to advance your skills , ITTS is the place to go. I’ll definitely be returning for more advanced courses.
Took CCW class. Solid class, even if a good portion of it is just fundamentals review. Good to have though. When I was a ski instructor and skydiver, I bought into the philosophy of working the fundamentals intentionally and regularly--why should your self-defense practices be any different? Just be prepared for that if you shoot regularly and/or come from the military. That said, coming from the military, it was nice to be in a class where they will bust your balls. Have a good sense of humor. It helps you learn, imo. You always remember the things you were called out for and you never make those mistakes again. For example, I won't wear my wife's cheetah print ear-pro again or wear such an obscure camo pattern (where my Bulgarian splinter enjoyers at? ) that they think you're wearing a nice party shit lmao Was also good to get the LEO philosophy on a lot of these things. All my training was in the military or in military -led classes and there's a noticeable difference here. Be open minded. Take what works for you from each class. Solid class. Exceedingly safe. I'm a safety guy (complacency kills) and these guys are all safety guys. Instructors that have done the damn thing. What more could you want? Will attend another class for sure
