Visited the range today for the the first time today to qualify some of our security officers. WOW!!! Just WOW. Been on many military /LE / Civilian ranges all over the country over 30 years of training. This place is a open canvas for realistic training. Professional squared away range from fire extinguishers, first aid kits stocked with CAT tournequits, Israeli bandages etc (you should never practice shooting people without the knowledge of how to save yourself and others) But all the Advanced Bleeding Control kits was reassuring for those that fail to bring their own. Looking very forward to training here in the future. A true gem of a range. Lynn was very friendly, knowledgeable, and pleasant, something that is unfortunately uncommon at many ranges
Texas Defensive Shooting Academy (TDSA) is an excellent range for practical shooting and defensive training because their tactical bays allow for drawing from a holster, rapid fire, and engaging multiple targets, which is rare for a public range. The on-site competitions and instruction from the owner, Len Baxley, also provide a comprehensive experience for shooters looking to improve their defensive skills and mindset.

I've been to this range about 6 times. I think the range is awesome. Great location. Good bays. The problem is that we often ran into issues actually using the bays. I'm not sure why. The guy we came with is a competition shooter so it was definitely not a competence issue. The shoot house is cool. The tower is cool. the ranges on the side that go out to 100+ are cool. Doesn't matter because you'll rarely get to use them. Even the 50 yard ranges were mostly off limits. If it weren't for the "off limits" issue, we'd all have joined. My friend dropped his membership and now we meet at another range and NETT. really a shame.
10/10 highly recommend. I did not want to leave 😆. I spent over 4 hours here and ran through over 750 rounds. Got to run drills in multiple bays for real life type training. Len and Keith are both amazing to deal with. Keith gave me tour of the entire compound and Len reached out after my visit. If you’re looking for a range to call home, and a staff to make you feel like family, I promise this one is it! Very affordable, no time limit and so many different setups to train. Best range I’ve been to.
I read the reviews before coming like I always do. I call before I visit and Lynn the owner is very nice. I arrived with my family and he show me around, at first I was only coming for a day pass but ended up getting a membership seen all the potential that this place has. I didn’t get to do the steel targets but I think I only saw 1-2 bays it would be nice if they had more in case it gets busy I’m sure steel targets are most popular . Either way this was my first time but not the last. Great place , thanks Lynn looking forward on upcoming visits .
