I was excited when our group booked a gun safety class. As a retired Air Force veteran, I knew I needed to refresh my skills, so I signed up my wife and myself. I had no idea just how much there was to learn about gun safety and firearms laws. Rai and Markus Washington took a diverse group of 14 women with different backgrounds and experiences and turned us into knowledgeable, trained gun owners. We covered not only Texas gun laws but also national regulations, ensuring we were fully informed before heading to the range. Rai’s team provided expert instruction on weapon handling, stance, trigger control, breathing techniques, hand positioning, grip, sight picture, and so much more. After the class, my wife asked if I felt more confident handling my weapon. Without hesitation, I answered yes. I now feel certain that I can protect myself—and, most importantly, my family. If you own or are considering owning a firearm, At Her Defense is a must. And having women lead the training only added to our comfort and confidence. Thank you, AHD, for equipping me with these essential skills!
Anxiety and fear were quickly removed when I was greeted by Rai’s friendly demeanor. The class was filled with eye opening depths on the laws first. She took the time to explain, give examples and ensure you understood what it takes to be a lawful owner. Her team walked us through handling and safety until we felt comfortable, even had an array of options to practice. I highly recommend the TLC plus course, and have shared it with my family and friends as well.
