Church Camp Road Recreational Shooting Site
Experience target practice at the Church Camp Road Recreational Shooting Site, a public outdoor range north of Phoenix. This free, day-use site offers fixed steel targets, concrete shooting platforms, and 50-, 100-, and 200-yard lanes for rifle and pistol shooting. It's a fantastic spot for both seasoned shooters and beginners looking for a unique activity under the Arizona sky, complete with accessible amenities.
Amazing facility. Super clean, beautiful atmosphere. Steel targets at 200, 300, 400, 500 and 700y. Nice friendly shooters. No cost and No RSO’s so please practice safety and have a good attitude.
Used to shoot out in the desert here and now they built a shooting range that helps keep it cleaner and safer. Steel targets only, unable to set up your own target so not good for sighting in a rifle.

My First time here had a blast can't wait to go again site is very well maintained they have 50,100, and 200 yard targets all steel only rifles and pistols permitted everyone there was cleaning after themselves very polite good vibes ..love that sound when you hit that steel..can't wait to go again
I am giving this 4 stars for the sole fact that there’s a huge lack of gun safety etiquette by others that visit. The range is very well kept and the fact that it’s free makes it very hard to pass up. The pistol range is 25-50 yards and is a blast! Rifle range is 100-200 and is also a great time. Plenty of parking and they even have a standing bathroom that is clean. I know that this place is free and having a range master would take the free part away but after watching numerous shooters, I’m surprised an incident hasn’t occurred. The lack of etiquette and just overall gun safety is ALARMING. I observed multiple people unable to rack the slide, control their firearm and then proceed to return to their table without clearing the firearm and pointing it at others. While not intentional, the lack of awareness needs to be shared with others looking to visit. Lastly, I found that early morning until around 11 is the hot time. If I go back it will be after 12 or so just to avoid the bigger crowds.
Tried going to Baldy but it was closed due to an iron man race, remembered this one and figured I'd give it a shot. Literally. Place is beautiful, very clean, organized and a great all around shooting facility. 100 yard, 200 yard & 15 and 25 yard pistol ranges. Also restrooms available. First come first serve, everyone is polite and friendly. Range safety officer is awesome and there to help with any needs, he even painted the targets florescent orange for us. A must go for shooting enthusiasts.
