My partner and I did Kellar's Magic Emporium, and it certainly left us talking about it for the rest of the night! We loved the attention to detail and the different challenges in each section of the room. Chris was also an excellent game master and made our experience exciting and memorable. We would love to experience the other rooms when we're next in Melbourne!
Mine Escape was our first escape room experience and it met all our expectations. Cannot give a five star as it is my first one :)! One feedback would be to add a bit more sound elements towards the end of the journey to enhance the urgency of the final few steps of the escape

I came and played the room fractured and it was a terrible experience. The music box was not working, and the whole puzzle was not well designed as we have never heard of the first song so there was no way we could’ve solved it even if it was working. The room was also extremely cold. Upon expression of this, there was no acknowledgment or apology given. The music box error was not fixed until we had already finished the room and instead of letting us know why the air con could not be turned off, I was just told to "move around more" to warm up. Having a puzzle not work is extremely frustrating to an escape room experience and getting zero apology is not acceptable. We were able to finish due to hints given but I felt like we were treated like we were dumb instead of actually acknowledging the prop not working. E.g. when we radioed to try to say the air con was too cold the staff member immediately assumed we needed help and gave us hints we already figured out. All we got for mentioning the problem was a "thanks for letting me know so I can fix it for the next group". Afterwards, the staff member - Chris, could not find the pieces of a puzzle and called us up to tell him where it was and told us to check our pockets. I told him we definitely did not take the pieces, but again he was not listening and insisted that it’s an easy mistake to make. This was not possible as I didn’t even have pockets. Eventually he found it in the room. Never have I had such a terrible experience with an escape room and the attitude of the staff member makes a huge difference. I'm not sure if the staff member who attended to us during the game was also Chris, but I assume it was very likely him as well. It’s very sad because I really liked the staff at the Flemington escape room who was very friendly. Will not be coming back again.
We completed Kellar’s Magic Emporium having completed the other ERM Rooms. Of all the escape rooms we have completed across Melbourne, ERM rooms have been our favourite. The puzzles are clever and unique and the puzzles fit together in amazing ways for some truly brilliant reveals. We completed this room as a group of two but it could accomodate bigger groups. We weren’t sure exactly how scary this room would be with the warning of it being “creepy” in the room description. The puzzles were truly clever similar to other rooms. Without spoiling anything, the best warning we can give it that if rooms had ratings this would be MA, with Fractured being PG and Mine Escape G. There is a visual as well as a psychological element to the fear factor of this room. If you like scary escape rooms, it doesn’t disappoint. Just make sure you let the game master know ahead of time what your fear tolerance is.
We did the Fractured Room as a group of 2 but would be great for a bigger group. Worst thing about this room is that we can't do it again! We have completed about 20 escape rooms collectively in Melbourne and surrounds so can definitively say this room is the absolute best!! The puzzels were clever, unique and fun. The design and way puzzles fit together was genius. Everything in the room worked and our game master was very clever in the use of hints. Everything you need to know in terms of caution in choosing this room is in the published description in terms of it being an "Inside Out" like experience inside the mind of someone on life support so sensitivity around this would be the only caution without spoiling anything. My best advice if you're not sure it to call ERM staff and ask. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to coming back. Thank you!
