I’m part of a group that partakes in about 5-10 escape rooms a month. We go to various companies and locations across Los Angeles. Last night (10/12/25) we did both Here, Kitty Kitty (new room for the location) and Black Dragon. Here, Kitty Kitty is a really fun and entertaining room. There are a lot of puzzles to work through with varying difficulty, and the story is cute. For a low tech room, the mechanics were really solid and we left very satisfied with the room. We then did Black Dragon, and this may be the best room I’ve ever done (out of 50-75 total). Black Dragon has everything one could ask of an escape room. The production value was fantastic and immersive. The puzzles were fun and challenging. The story was interesting and the room was probably one of the largest in size and scope I’ve experienced. Miles was our game master for both and he’s fantastic. It seems as if he really loves his job, and having his involvement (without any spoilers) was also a lot of fun. The only downside is the location, given that it’s Downtown with limited parking options and not the cleanest or safest area. When getting there I was hesitant because of the location, but was pleasantly surprised by the building, the rooms and the staff. A+ and am looking forward to going back to partake in the other rooms we haven’t done yet.
I had a horrible experience at Escape Room LA. The game was timed, but several items in the Atlantis Room were already broken when we arrived, which wasted valuable time and made the game harder to complete. Afterward, we were met with suspicion and hostility. The older white owner ignored us, then falsely accused us of breaking a puzzle piece we didn’t damage—and charged my card $47 without permission. I believe my group was racially profiled and treated unfairly from the moment we walked in. That is the only explanation for the cold reception, aggressive tone, and lack of professionalism. The owner’s behavior was threatening, rude, and completely uncalled for. I do not recommend this business to anyone. Please do not support Escape Room LA—there are many other escape rooms in Los Angeles with more welcoming and respectful staff.

What a wonderful experience! I really enjoy the mystery and suspense. Great costumer service and very welcoming! I was moral support but still was very fun! Take a friend who knows math very well!! Thank you nate, theo, and Ashley for such an amazing experience!
I love when escape rooms really place you in the setting, and this did that for us. My husband and I did The Black Dragon room with just us two, and we were only a couple of puzzles away from completing. Not bad, imo! It's very nonlinear, which I love because he and I both get into our own zone with certain puzzles, and neither of us like to stand around watching the other have all the fun. The small details in this room make a BIG difference. There were several puzzles I had not seen before in my previous experiences, and this was room 35 for me. I am quite sure a team of 3 or 4 could complete this. It's challenging, but don't overthink, and you'll be fine. Our game host was John, and he was great! We didn't ask for any hints, and he gave us only one minor hint to kick us off, so I loved that he just left us to challenge ourselves and wasn't overbearing with unsolicited hints. That said, there's a very minor live actor component to it, but it really added to the vibe. His energy and humor were pretty cool. Oh, and there's a cute mini-puzzle experience in the lobby while you wait. ❤️ As far as the area: Street parking is scarce (it's a downtown area, so of course), but there's a small lot right next door, and multiple other parking options other than street parking. It's close to lots of other stores (convenience stores, restaurants, etc.).
We LOVED this escape room. Decoration was 10/10 and some of the puzzles were pretty unique. We beat the room with very little time to spare so difficulty felt good. We did two rooms two different days and staff on both days were great. ((There is another escape room in the area and when we went it was a very bad experience. If you are between this place and the surrounding options choose this one!!!))
