My problem was with the 100 yrd range. The seat was a very low with a cobbled together 2x4 box as the seat. The shooting position was very cramped and low. It was flat across the front without a cut out for the shooter. It was impossible to get into a stable shooting position. There was a very narrow loophole to shoot from that severly restricted your shooting position. It was very difficult to find a comfortable shooting position and didn't allow enough room for a spotting scope. I think it would be a decent range with a major redesign and improved shooting positions.

I’ve been coming to Thunder Gun Range for years for rifle and pistol shooting, but my latest visit was frustrating due to poor management and communication. There was poor coordination between the staff and owners. I was asked to move shooting bays four times during my session, each time I was informed of a new policy, ultimately disrupting my focus. The final move, suggested by the owner’s son, took me to the standing rifle section to help accommodate my height, only for Nikki, the owner’s wife, to say it required an extra fee to stay there. This felt like an unfair upsell after paying standard lane fees. Despite safety protocols being followed, the disorganization and surprise costs made this visit disappointing, especially after 17 years of patronage. There are other outdoor ranges within the area that will be taking my business going forward.
Good place with good workers who were nice and happy to answer my questions and help me with advice as well as service on an old gun I had inherited that needed a little adjustment and TLC. I will be back and will bring my grandkids here. Came here a 15-20 yrs ago and was not so impressed with the condition of the range then, BUT now, they have certainly made up for it with new wood decking, benches and roofs. It's very nice. Also, have associated merchandise you can purchase while there if you'd like. Make sure to bring your own spotting scope and hearing protection. If a fair price. I'll be back.
The range experience was surprisingly pleasant. While some might describe it as rudimentary and somewhat worn, I found its simplicity to be its charm. It served its basic purpose well, providing an open and relaxed atmosphere without feeling overcrowded. Despite the presence of range personnel nearby, they respected our familiarity with our weapons and safety protocols, allowing us to enjoy our time without unnecessary interference. While it may not appeal to everyone, I personally enjoyed the laid-back nature of the place and will definitely return in the future.
