I’m disappointed writing this review. This is my fiance and I’s favorite range. It has so many friendly people and after a long work week, we could easily spend hours here. After today, not so much. My fiance and I were mag dumping (aka rapid firing) which is allowed here. There was a gentleman to our right also mag dumping. The attendant came and gave just ME a warning, as I was the only one firing at the time, that I was shooting high and hitting the ceiling. He stated it sends them an alert when this happens for damage and safety. He told ME to slow down and aim lower. Cool, I apologized and did. The only times we saw this attendant was walking in, asking to check ammo, and when he gave me a warning. After about 10 minutes a different attendant comes back and tells us to leave. Then he asks us to pack up and step outside to have a conversation. When we exit the range and come into the lobby he handed us our ID’s and said have a good day. Where was the conversation? Where was the professionalism? This issue was escalated and then the employees twisted the story while my fiance was on the phone with the manager. At the end of the day a warning was given to one person it is not professional or expected for the patrons to hand out direct commands of safety to one another. I hope FREEDOM or Stoddards uses this as a teaching moment for your staff lacking in customer service and accountability. Sincerely, someone who works in customer service and accountability.
My time and experience taking the women’s fundamental gun class with Chazz was excellent!! She is very knowledgeable and I learnt a lot. We shoot a lot. I can’t wait to go back and learn more. In fact, I’m up in the middle of the night writing this review and planning my next visit. I feel like I should go back tomorrow, seriously lol. Gun enthusiast loading……………

Compared to the many shooting ranges I’ve been to, I have to say this experience will be my last time coming here. From the multiple questions just to register before shooting, to having to give your ID, and then being told you can’t shoot something if you can’t buy it, it’s just not for me. I prefer ranges that keep it simple, you walk in, tell them how many are shooting and what you’re shooting, pay, grab your targets and protection, and get to it. If you’re someone who likes that straightforward setup, I wouldn’t recommend this place. Otherwise, it’s a decent spot in Douglasville,
Great spot to get practice with multiple firearms. Safety classes and training offered by certified staff. Fair prices and nice inventory. Ms. Chazz was very professional and informative on all things firearms. Will definitely refer my friends and family to visit with her and sharpen their skills on the range. Thank you Chazz for a great experience
I would like to start this by saying, I have been to this range before when it was Stoddard's. Yet most of my visits has been at the Midtown location. I have been shooting for years. And had come to trust Stoddards as a safe envornment. That all ended today. This has been the absolute worse experiance I have ever had at a range!!! I visted this range with a group of 3 and a total of 6 firearms between us all. Because there are no stands to hold rifles (as there are in the midtown range), this caused us to attempt to keep all of our firearms within one lane. I have always thought it to be a safe pratcie as well as a common rule in most ranges to only have the 1 firearms out at a time. With that being said, 3 shooters on one lane is a waste of time waiting to happen not to speak of how unsafe this could be as well. But maybe that is the goal here!!! At $20.00 per person per hour, you are sure to have 3 shooters spending more time changing out firearms and loading magazines, than you would have them shooting. I asked the store manager if it might be posible to use any one of the two lanes to our left or right that was not in use at the time, only to be told "We are so busy right now, that I am not able to allow that...the new policy calls for 3 shooters on 1 lane". Anyone who has spent time are the range should know that in most ranges the rule would be 2 shooters per lane (but I digress). This is not just a level of confort but also a level of safety!!! And this was my biggest concern. As I was speaking to Chazz (The Store Manager) about the level of safety and confort she pointed out that one of the shooters on the lane I shared was loading his magazine at the time, and said "You could be shooting now". I relaized that she had not noticed the absurdity in her observation. If the shooter is loading magazines in the lane, how or why would I be firing a live weapon in the same lane? Now keep in mind what was said..."The New Policy calls for 3 shooters per lane"...So at one point the policy changed (But again I digress). I was also advised by Chazz, that had I been a memeber she would be able to allow me the other lane (not sure if that was a upsale or what, but it feel flat). Now don't get me wrong, I understand if a range is busy it might call for more shooters to a lane than normal. But I have tried to upload the photos of what they call busy. I was able to count 7 lanes not in use at the time (Including the lanes to the right and left of us). And I have seen busy before, to the point there have been waits to even get a lane. This was not the case. I really felt this was more profit over everything else because had we gone over the hour, that would have been another $60.00. I even asked if there might be some consideration given in the event we went over an hour slightly. I was told by Chazz "No...if you go over the hour, you will have to pay for the next hour". I was really over it at this point, because the last thing I want to do at a gun range is rush to shoot a gun. So I packed my things and allow the other two shooter to enjoy. The idea that you would allow that many firearms, that many shooters and asigned them one lane is crazy to me and again, VERY UNSAFE. Thankfully I have never experianced this at the location in midtown. I think I am done with Freedom, and for sure will never visit this location again. Things really have seemed to go down in the changed from Stoddard's.
