I took my kids for a quick weekend getaway to The Grove Resort and spent most of our time at the Safari Water Park — and let me just say, Ethan made the experience even better than expected! From the very first interaction, Ethan was friendly, professional, and genuinely attentive. He went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed and always checked in with a smile, even when the park was busy. His energy was upbeat and warm, which made me feel like we were truly on vacation and being well taken care of. By the second day, I wasn’t even looking for a place to sit — I was looking for Ethan. That’s how good his service was. He remembered our preferences, was super sweet with the kids, and always made sure we were comfortable and happy. It’s rare to find that kind of consistency and care. If you’re headed to The Grove, do yourself a favor and find Ethan at the Safari Water Park. He truly made our weekend one to remember!

We recently stayed at The Grove Resort and had a very mixed experience. The place looks great online, but the reality didn’t quite match up. First off, there’s no housekeeping included—you’re expected to wash your own towels, make your own beds, and basically treat it like an Airbnb, which is not what we expected from a full-service resort. The pool and water park area were absolutely packed every day, with nowhere to sit unless you got there extremely early. It felt more chaotic than relaxing. We also had a concerning issue: my daughter got bitten in bed by what we believe were bed fleas or bugs. That alone was enough to leave us feeling uneasy. We decided to eat at the poolside restaurant, where we spent over $100 just for some nuggets and fries. But the worst part? After we sat down, a staff member came over and said we might have to move because it was a “full service area.” We had already paid and were just trying to enjoy our meal. The whole experience felt disorganized and not very guest-friendly. To be fair, the rooms are spacious and the location is decent, but overall it did not feel like a true resort experience. We made the most of it for the kids, but we won’t be coming back.

The rooms are spacious, which was nice—we had a full kitchen and laundry in the unit, which definitely helped. But the room felt a little dated, and we had a few minor issues (like a leaky faucet and a weird smell in the hallway). Nothing major, just little things that made it feel not quite “resort” level. The water park is probably the best part. The lazy river and slides were fun, especially for the kids. But it gets super crowded, and if you don’t grab chairs early, good luck. Also, a lot of the “extras” like the surf simulator or arcade cost more, which adds up fast. Food was mid. We mostly cooked in the room after trying a couple of the on-site spots. Nothing stood out. Also, be ready for extra fees—parking, resort charges, even towel rentals in some cases. It’s close enough to Disney, and the shuttle is a nice option, but don’t expect luxury. It’s fine for families who want space and water fun without paying Disney resort prices, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to stay here again unless I got a good deal

The reason I am giving it 4 stars is because of the little kid part of the water park. I feel like there should be some rules enforced such as kids not being allowed in the water if they are not potty trained unless they have on a swim diaper. And I mean really enforce this rule. We got out of that area after seeing diaper pulp floating in the water because parents had their kids out there all day in a regular diaper and the same diaper at that. I also think you should change the height on the 2 big slides to 46 inches. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this place. Great location. Great price. Friendly and helpful staff. Very kid friendly and the rooms were amazing.

I recently stayed here with my family a few weeks back. When we arrived at the hotel entrance, I noticed our cell phone reception (we have AT&T) was quite poor. The exterior face of the hotel was beautiful, and was surrounded by vibrant landscaping. When we arrived, we waited in a long car line to get in at the guard shack, and after about 15-20 minutes, we were able to park to enter the lobby. Parking to enter the lobby is extremely limited, and is a mad house to find a parking spot. The line to check-in was extremely long, as I believe we waited least 30 minutes to get through the line. The person that helped us with our check-in was not helpful at all, and outright rude. There was an issue with our check-in, and the experience we had was quite poor to get through it. Once we finally got past the check-in point, and we had our room, we noticed there is very few elevators. The elevator that was the closest to our room was located at the parking garage. Due to the shortage of elevators, there was a constant wait to get on every time we used it. The room itself was quite nice and appeared updated. The next problem we encountered was the housekeeping team. There were no spare sheets, or pillows for the couch pullout bed. When we requested these, we were met with an attitude from the lady who took our call (who worked for housekeeping) and were told there was “no spare sheets or pillows available”. The next day, we had to call the front desk about this and finally received the spare bedding needed. The slide and pool area was quite a walk from the hotel. They did have a golf cart that was escorting people from the hotel to the pool/slide area. The young man driving the golf cart escorting guests, drove extremely fast up and down the drive, and was blasting rap music. Definitely a safety issue when walking to the pool and slide area, and it made us constantly worried about our kids getting hit by this person. The pool and slide area appearance when we walked up was impressive. We stayed in one of their cabanas the first few days. The pools were nice, and were very relaxing, with the exception of a few people bringing their personal speakers (which is not allowed) and blasting their music for all to hear. We then went on the lazy river, and experienced trash/food floating in the river, and around the side landscape areas. There are signs around the lazy river specifically stated “no food or drinks allowed”. The slides were fun, and our kids very much enjoyed them. The food was good, and our servers were had at the cabana were great. I think the hotel has good “bones”, but there are many areas that turned us off from our experience. We were looking forward to our trip, but after dealing with the staff issues, housekeeping issues, and the fact that the hotel cannot uphold their own rules to ensure guest satisfaction, we will not be back.
