We had an incredible team-building event at The Axe Lair in downtown Upland last week, and I can’t recommend it enough! From the moment we arrived, the staff was exceptionally accommodating, friendly, and full of energy. They made sure everyone felt welcome and comfortable, even those of us who had never tried axe throwing before. The instructors were patient and enthusiastic, giving us helpful tips and cheering us on throughout the experience. The atmosphere was upbeat and fun, making it easy to relax and enjoy ourselves.
The axe throwing games were a blast—challenging enough to be exciting but still accessible for beginners. We also spent time in the karaoke room, which was a surprise hit! It was a great way to unwind and laugh together after the competition. The space itself is well-designed, clean, and perfect for group events. Good but not great! This is my second ever axe throwing location and the wooden wall is just SO CLOSE to your throwing location that it feels awkward to throw. There is just not enough airtime for the axe/knife/shovel to spin.
For the most part it’s good for axes and knives. I just wish the throwing distance was further because that feels much better an experience.

The Axe Lair is hands down one of the most fun and unique experiences in Downtown Upland! From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming, energetic, and made us feel totally comfortable—even though it was our first time throwing axes. The coaches gave clear, helpful instructions and added a lot of humor to the experience, which made it even better. The vibe is awesome—clean space, great music, and a perfect mix of excitement and chill. Whether you're planning a date night, birthday party, or just something different to do with friends, this place is a total win. We'll definitely be back. We had so much fun here for my friend’s birthday! The atmosphere is very chill but exciting, there were different games to play, different weapons you could try, and an arcade section besides! You could also have drinks from the bar, and there was a rage room further in! Will definitely be coming back here to hang out!
We booked online and didn’t realize we picked the other location, so when we showed up they didn’t have us down. I showed my receipt and she was able to access the other location to get our info, they had room at that location so she let us stay. Everything about the experience there from when we walked in till we left was that same level of customer service. It was such a fun experience! Will defiantly be going back.
